Electric Wheelchair Controller — iV1 & iV2

ZVCARE's iV1 (brushed) and iV2 (brushless) electric wheelchair joystick controllers are factory-built for wheelchairs and mobility scooters. Both use electromagnetic braking that stops when you release the joystick and holds on slopes, a 360° rotating joystick, and adjustable speed and power — the same controllers fitted to our own wheelchair lineup.

Why Dealers Stock ZVCARE Controllers

Six reasons our joystick controllers are an easy add to your parts line.

Electromagnetic Brake — Holds on Slopes

Both the iV1 and iV2 electric wheelchair joystick controllers use an electromagnetic brake, not just an electronic brake. Release the joystick and the chair stops; cut the power and it still holds. On a slope it stays put instead of rolling back — a safety difference your customers feel on the first test drive.

Electromagnetic brake

360° Joystick with Adjustable Speed and Power

The joystick rotates a full 360° with a clear, simple interface. Both speed and power output are adjustable (see our demo videos), so dealers can tune the driving feel for indoor maneuvering or outdoor cruising.

ABS Anti-Lock Braking

Anti-lock braking keeps the wheels from locking during hard stops, for stable, controlled deceleration. The iV2 adds a dedicated anti-lock brake system tuned for brushless drive.

ABS braking

DSP Aviation-Grade Chip (iV2)

The iV2 brushless controller runs on an advanced DSP chip built to aviation-grade standards, with strong anti-interference performance and a stable signal. The result is smoother response and a longer service life than entry-level single-chip controllers.

DSP chip

Serious Power Headroom (iV1)

The iV1 brushed controller is available in 70A / 1680W and 50A / 1200W versions, with a DC 20–30V operating range — enough headroom to drive dual-motor wheelchairs confidently under full load.

Matched Pairs, Factory Tested

Each electric wheelchair joystick controller and motor must be matched by type: the iV1 pairs with brushed motors, the iV2 with brushless motors — they cannot be mixed. Order them as a factory-matched set and every unit is tested together before it ships.

Why Controller and Motor Must Match

Brushed and brushless drive systems speak different electrical languages. A brushed controller outputs a variable DC voltage; a brushless motor needs three-phase electronic commutation from its controller — so the iV1 pairs only with brushed motors (DR1 / DR2 / DR3) and the iV2 only with the brushless DR8. Order them as a factory-matched motor + controller set and every unit is tested together before it ships.

Key Facts at a Glance

What every dealer should know about ZVCARE controllers.

  • Electromagnetic brake standard on both: release the joystick and the chair stops; cut the power and it still holds — including on slopes.
  • Adjustable speed and power: tune the driving feel for indoor maneuvering or outdoor cruising — see the demo videos.
  • Order as a matched set: iV1 with brushed motors, iV2 with brushless — tested together at the factory before shipping.

Frequently Asked Questions

Get instant answers to common inquiries about the iV1 and iV2 controllers, ordering process, and support services.

What is the difference between the iV1 and the iV2? +

The iV1 is a brushed-motor controller (up to 70A / 1680W) and the iV2 is a brushless-motor controller (50A / 1200W) built around a DSP aviation-grade chip. Both share electromagnetic braking, ABS, a 360° joystick, and adjustable speed and power. Choose by motor type: iV1 for brushed motors, iV2 for brushless.

Can I use the iV1 with a brushless motor, or the iV2 with a brushed motor? +

No. Brushed and brushless systems are not interchangeable — the controller and motor must be the same type. We recommend ordering them as a factory-matched set, tested together before shipping.

What is an electromagnetic brake, and how is it different from an electronic brake? +

An electromagnetic brake uses a solenoid valve in the motor: release the joystick and it stops, cut the power and it still holds — including on slopes. An electronic brake has no solenoid valve; it can stop the chair but cannot lock it firmly, so the chair may roll back on a slope.

Is the driving speed adjustable? +

Yes. Both speed and power output are adjustable through the controller interface — see our demo videos showing maximum-speed adjustment and power adjustment in action.

What can the iV2 be used for besides wheelchairs? +

The iV2 suits any 24V-class brushless drive application: mobility scooters, forklifts, weeding vehicles, and electric trolleys, in addition to electric wheelchairs.

What connectors do the controllers use? +

The iV1 uses the Anderson standard plug for power, plus round-plug motor connections. The iV2's control box uses aviation-style connectors at the rear. OEM connector options are available on request.

What are your MOQ, lead time, and warranty for controllers? +

MOQ is 1 piece, lead time is 7 days after payment, and controllers carry a 12-month warranty. OEM options (logo, packaging, connector configuration) are available — contact Peter or Alice for wholesale pricing.
